Hi Inderjit

It looks to me as if F77 may have been set to an empty string (""). 
Could it be that fortran is not installed, and that you have either 
edited the makefile or set F77 to an empty value to get around an 
earlier error message? Otherwise, I don't understand how you could have 
received the message you report. May I suggest you a) install fortran 
and b) revert to the unmodified file if necessary.
