Subject: [Dock-fans] Ubuntu

Hello,
I have installed Ubuntu 8.1. My ultimate goal is to compile dock 6.2. I am trying to install g++. I tried the following commands :

These are the steps I executed :

1. I ran the 'sudo apt-get update' .

2. Then I tried sudo apt-get install g++

These are the error msgs, I am getting :

the error message : Pkg g++ is not available but is referred to by another pkg.This may mean that the pkg is missing /obsoleted or is only available from another source.
Pkg G++ has no installation candidate.
end of error message

Can you pl. help me ?

I want to install g++ so that I can compile g++.

Thanks
Usha
