Hi Uwe

Thanks for your question. The file has an xls suffix so the browser will 
hand it to the spreadsheet. But it is just a tab delimited file. Rather 
than send you 100s of chunks of tab delimited data, we give you the lot 
in one file. You can then use split or other tools to break it into 
whatever size chunks you like.

btw, I don't think it is the size of the file so much as the number of 
rows, which Excel and OpenOffice limit to 65,000 or so, at the moment. 
It is hard to see how that will last much longer. "Mr Gates: tear this 
(2^16 - 1) wall down." Enjoy the technical anachronisms while they last.
